Why Lightweight Matters in an E-Bike
Weight isn't just a number on a spec sheet — it defines how an Ebike feels, performs, and fits into your daily life. A lighter bike means better control, easier transport, and greater energy efficiency. Whether you’re navigating busy streets, threading through narrow trails, lifting it up stairs, or mounting it on a car rack, weight can be the difference between a seamless ride and a frustrating hassle
Heavier e-bikes also drain more battery power, limiting how far you can go. That’s why at Velotric, we approached the Breeze 1 with a clear mission: build the lightest, most capable cruiser in its class—without compromising on power, durability, or comfort.
Deliberately Crafted for Lightness
We didn’t just shave off grams—we reimagined every component for intelligent, purpose-driven weight savings. At just 48 lbs (21.7 kg) including the battery, the Breeze 1 outperforms most e-bikes in its category. For context, the Aventon Pace 500.3 weighs 54 lbs—and that’s with a smaller 500W motor.
Velotric’s engineering team meticulously optimized each detail to eliminate excess bulk while preserving strength and ride quality. The result? A bike that’s agile when you ride it, effortless when you carry it, and powerful enough to conquer any commute.
The Featherweight Motor That Punches Above Its Weight
One of our biggest innovations lies in the motor. The Breeze 1 features a custom-built 750W motor that weighs just 2.7 kg—roughly 40% lighter than comparable rear hub motors like the 500W unit on the Aventon Pace 500.3, which clocks in around 3.9 kg.
But don’t mistake light for weak. With 65Nm of torque, this motor delivers instant acceleration, smooth hill climbs, and a top speed of 28 mph—all while running cooler and more efficiently thanks to optimized heat dissipation. It’s proof that less weight can unlock more performance.
Intelligently Engineered, Rigorously Tested Frame
Cutting weight without sacrificing strength is no small feat—it requires precision engineering. The Breeze 1’s frame is crafted with triple-butted and hydroformed aluminum tubing, designed to reinforce high-stress zones and reduce material where it’s not needed. The result is a structure that’s as strong as it is streamlined.
Using advanced computer simulations and finite element analysis (FEA), Velotric ensured every curve and joint of the frame is purpose-built for performance. Add to that our use of aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum alloy—refined through a customized heat-treatment process—and you get a frame that’s not just light, but incredibly resilient.
Durability and Safety That Go Beyond the Standard
Lightweight doesn’t mean fragile. The Breeze 1 was engineered to withstand years of real-world use—and then some. Its frame and fork surpassed ISO safety standards by 20%, enduring extreme-condition tests that simulate thousands of miles of riding.
The electrical system is UL 2849 certified, the battery meets UL 2271 standards, and the frame boasts an IPX6 water-resistance rating—giving you full confidence in both safety and durability. Many e-bikes focus on wattage or battery size. Velotric took it further, delivering an experience built on trust, quality, and long-term performance.
A New Benchmark for Lightweight E-Bikes
The Breeze 1 doesn’t just meet expectations—it redefines them. By reengineering the motor, optimizing the frame, and selecting premium materials with intention, Velotric created an e-bike that’s light in weight, heavy on performance, and easy to love from the very first ride.
Whether you’re gliding through your daily commute, heading out for a weekend cruise, or simply lifting it onto a rack, the Breeze 1 proves that lightweight engineering isn’t a compromise—it’s an upgrade.
